Community Training

I would soon be conducting training session for people ranging from the age of 18 and up. These people are novice to moderate learning to computers and technology. Taking this class will be helpful in learning the back-in in conducting a successful workshop. Even though there is a wide range of how I can implement learning to my audience, I have planned to start by creating a formal enviroment to my participants. Instead of using a lecture-based communication, I would be using a self-learning communication workshop. From reading severals articles about e-learning and what-to-know to conducting training workshops, I have learned that when it comes to providing a workshop for middle-age adults, a trainer needs to assess the information according to their benefit. Its one thing to pick a topic and basing that workshop off the topic and just talk about that one topic; its not going to be applied well in the minds of adults. A trainer must allow adults to take control of the workshop; giving them a sense of control to how they want to learn.

  1. Ricky,

Good beginning thoughts related to the training you will be conducting. As the instructional designer, kow will you balance the needs of the organization with the needs of your audience? How will you design for your participants to take control?
